Sunny
Sunny
At the Star Kids group home, a rusted-out Nissan Sunny sits abandoned in the yard, and the children who live there climb inside to imagine it as a spaceship, a getaway car, or a road to anywhere but here. Taiyo Matsumoto follows these foster kids of different ages as they handle ordinary growing pains alongside the ache of being left behind, drifting between hopes of adoption and the families they still long for. The car gives the work its name and the children their escape.
