Hiroshi Nakahara, a middle-aged salaryman on his way home from a business trip, boards the wrong train and ends up in Kurayoshi, the town where he grew up. He stops at his mother's grave, blacks out there, and comes to as a fourteen-year-old with every adult memory intact, living again with the family he lost decades ago. Knowing what is coming, Hiroshi sets out to learn why his father walked out one night and never came back.
