Fumi Manjome moves back to Kamakura after ten years away and runs into Akira Okudaira on the way to school, the childhood friend who used to stand up for her when she cried. Fumi starts at Matsuoka Girls' High School still bruised by a first love that ended badly, and leans on the steady Akira as the two fold back into each other's lives. At Matsuoka she grows close to Yasuko Sugimoto, a poised third-year, and a first relationship slowly takes shape.
