Shy middle-schooler Inari Fushimi pulls a fox pup out of a river near the Inari shrine in Kyoto, not knowing it serves the goddess Uka-no-Mitama-no-Kami. Uka offers her a wish, and Inari blurts out that she wants to be Akemi Sumizome, the classmate her crush Kouji Tanbabashi seems to like. Regretting it at once, she is given a fragment of Uka's divine power instead: the words "Inari, konkon" now let her take any shape she wants, at a cost to the goddess who bent the rules to grant it.
