Synopsis
Nagisa Yamada is a guarded, plainspoken middle schooler in a rural town who wants only to graduate and enlist in the Self-Defense Force, shaping a future free of the poverty that followed her father's death and her brother Tomohiko's withdrawal from the world. Her routine cracks when Mokuzu Umino, a wealthy transfer student from Tokyo, arrives declaring herself a mermaid and warning that a storm is coming. Drawn to the one girl indifferent to her, Mokuzu insists that Nagisa become her precious friend.
