Ten years after a mysterious zone called Hell's Gate appeared in Tokyo, the night sky is filled with false stars and the world is shaped by Contractors — people who traded their humanity for supernatural powers, each paying an odd price every time they use them. Hei, an emotionless Contractor known by the code BK-201 and called the Black Reaper, works covert jobs for a shadowy syndicate while posing as an ordinary student. This manga adaptation runs alongside the anime, following Hei through assignments under the watch of the agents tracking the Gate.
