In 1374, as the Northern and Southern Courts grind through their long war, a boy called Oniyasha grows up inside the Kanze troupe of sarugaku performers led by his father, Kanami, haunted by one question: why do people dance? Then he sees a dance so good it cracks something open in him, and his path begins. This is the story of the boy who would become Zeami and shape the art of Noh forever.
