Decim, an arbiter stationed at the afterlife bar Quindecim, receives pairs of recently deceased humans who arrive with no memory of dying. He challenges them to high-stakes games — darts, bowling, arcade battles — designed to draw out their true natures, then judges whether each soul is reincarnated or cast into the void. His routine shifts when a black-haired woman with no memory of her own past appears as his new assistant and begins questioning his verdicts.
