Transfer student Kōichi Sakakibara joins Class 3-3 at Yomiyama North Middle School and notices that his classmates treat a girl named Mei Misaki as if she doesn't exist. The class carries a decades-old curse tied to a student named Misaki who died in 1972: each year, an extra person appears among the students and faculty, and those connected to the class begin dying in bizarre accidents. Kōichi's decision to speak to Mei triggers the chain of deaths the class has been trying to prevent.
