Maka Albarn and her weapon partner Soul Eater Evans hunt corrupted souls across Death City to turn Soul into a Death Scythe worthy of the Shinigami. At Death Weapon Meister Academy, they train alongside the brash assassin Black☆Star with his weapon Tsubaki, and the Shinigami's symmetry-obsessed son Death the Kid wielding twin pistols Liz and Patty Thompson. Each pair must collect ninety-nine evil souls and one witch's soul — a quota that pulls all three teams into dangerous missions beyond the Academy's walls.
