Arata Kasuga loses his hometown and his cousin Hijiri to a catastrophic magical event called a Breakdown Phenomenon. After a mage arrives to destroy the Grimoire keeping his world intact, Arata enrolls at the Royal Biblia Academy to learn magic and find a way to bring Hijiri back. There he meets the Trinity Seven — the academy's seven strongest mages, each representing a deadly sin — and discovers that Arin, one of the seven, looks exactly like his missing cousin.
