Synopsis
Makoto Edamura, a small-time Japanese con artist, tries to scam a French tourist in Asakusa and discovers the mark is Laurent Thierry, an international confidence man who outplays him completely. Humiliated but intrigued, Makoto is pulled into Laurent's crew for a sting targeting a Hollywood drug lord in Los Angeles — the first in a globe-spanning series of cons aimed at criminals too powerful or connected for the law to touch.
