Ichigo Kurosaki's quiet stretch in Karakura Town ends when Soul Society's warning sirens blare. Residents of the Rukon District are vanishing without trace, and an army calling itself the Wandenreich, led by the Quincy emperor Yhwach, declares war on the Gotei 13. As the first invasion overwhelms the captains and strips them of their Bankai, Ichigo races to reach Soul Society before its defenders fall. This anime returns the Bleach story after a decade-long hiatus to adapt the manga's final arc.
