Synopsis
Five years after Makoto Shishio's failed uprising, Shishio's sword resurfaces in the hands of Ashitarou, an orphan boy who ends up taking shelter at Kaoru Kamiya's dojo along with two other strays, Aran and Asahi. When the clan that raised Asahi comes looking for her, the group turns up a photograph taken in Hokkaido of Kaoru's father, Kamiya Koshijirou, long presumed dead in the Seinan War. Kenshin Himura and the Kamiya household set out north to follow the lead, continuing the story where the original Meiji Kenkaku Romantan left off.
