Zig Crane, a mercenary who fights with two blades, signs on with a party sent to put down a witch, and the woman he corners at the end of it is nothing like the country-drowning monster the stories describe. Siasha doesn't run: she hires him as her bodyguard, worn out by a world that wants her dead on reputation alone. The two set out for an unfamiliar continent in search of somewhere she can live unhunted, neither of them yet sure the other can be trusted. This light novel began as a web serial and later gained a manga adaptation.
