Rin Takanashi, a care worker in her thirties, is swept up in a summoning to another world, judged to have no useful power and left in open grassland. Her hidden skill turns out to be camping: she can call up a camper van and live comfortably almost anywhere, so she sets off across the unfamiliar world instead of despairing. After one of her meals pulls a dragon-kin adventurer named Vil back from the brink, Rin joins his party as its cook and porter, turning whatever the land offers into something worth eating.
