Luffy, Zoro and Nami are starving on a small boat when a sea monster attacks and carries Nami off, leaving the other two washed up on an unfamiliar shore. There they meet Medaka, a girl whose village has lost all of its men to the pirate Ganzack, her father among them. Getting Nami back means getting inside Ganzack's base, which is also the only way the villagers come home. This novel retells the 1998 short film that was the first animated One Piece production, made before the television series began.
