Sumiyoshi Izumi is working through the 1990s in the college town of Tachikawa, playing 8-bit and 16-bit games at his gaming club. Then a senpai moves in next door, and the two of them are picked as humanity's representatives in the building of a whole new world. This light novel opens the EDGE series, set in the era before humanity rose to the heavens in Kawakami's Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon, and it treats the making of that legend as something two students have to actually do.
