最遊記外伝 特別篇 香花の章

Tenpou has only just taken up his post as marshal of Heaven's Western Army when a new officer, Kenren, transfers in from the Eastern Army, years before the events that turn Heaven against them. This special episode of Saiyuki Gaiden retells chapters 11 to 13 of the manga from Tenpou's point of view: a brilliant soldier who lives in total disorder off the battlefield, meeting a spirited, protective subordinate whose bond with him quickly outgrows rank. Its second half is an original story, plotted by creator Kazuya Minekura herself, about the two of them and the men of the Western Army's First Platoon.
