Stepbrothers Touma and Souichirou Tachibana set out to revive the baseball team at Meisei Academy, famous since the days of Tatsuya Uesugi but twenty-six years past its glory. As second-years at Meisei's middle school, both are talented: Souichirou is a strong catcher and hitter, while Touma, an exceptional pitcher, has stopped pitching for reasons of his own. Once they move up to the high school, they mean to form a battery and carry Meisei back to the national high school baseball championship.
