Red Blood Cell AE3803 and White Blood Cell U-1146 continue their duties inside the human body in this second season, where a new thread follows an Ordinary Cell who befriends a group of Lactic Acid Bacteria far from their home in the intestines. As Ordinary Cell escorts the bacteria back, the immune system grapples with the line between harmful invaders and helpful microbes. The season builds toward a rematch with Cancer Cell, who exploits toxic buildup in the large intestine to stage a comeback.
