Eijun Sawamura returns to the Seido High baseball club after the summer tournament, where the loss of the graduating third-years reshapes the roster and the fall tournament reopens the road to nationals. Sawamura, fellow pitcher Satoru Furuya, and catcher Kazuya Miyuki keep pushing one another as the contest to claim the ace number carries into a new school year. This second season follows the team's rebuild after the senior players move on.
