A thousand years after the alien Gauna destroyed Earth, the last of humanity drifts through space aboard the colony ship Sidonia. Pilot Nagate Tanikaze returns to the cockpit alongside the human-Gauna hybrid Tsumugi Shiraui, a strange new ally born from the enemy itself. As Sidonia sets course toward the ninth planet of the Lem system, fresh Gauna assaults force Nagate and his squadmate Izana Shinatose back into desperate mecha combat. This second season continues directly from the first.
