Tanyuu Karibusa sends the mushishi Ginko to look into an abandoned village where dead wood and even the houses are sprouting back into living plants. The ground belongs to Kumado Minai, current head of a long mushishi line, who has little use for an outsider on his territory, and the two end up tracing the overgrowth together. What they turn up brings out the duty binding the Minai line to the Karibusa household. This 45-minute special is an extra episode of Mushi-shi's second season.
