Ten-year-old wizard Negi Springfield teaches homeroom to the thirty-one girls of Mahora Academy's Class 3-A. When envoys from the Magic Academy arrive reporting that a relic called the Star Crystal has vanished, magical trouble closes in around the class, and Negi seals pacts known as Pactio with his students to fight it. This alternate retelling of Negima reworks the original with new designs and a new storyline.
