Decades into humanity's war against the alien BETA, pilots fight from giant humanoid machines called Tactical Surface Fighters along defense lines across a shrinking world. At the United Nations' Yukon Base, half-Japanese American pilot Yuuya Bridges is assigned to Project PROMINENCE, an international program testing prototype TSFs. Paired with Yui Takamura of Japan's Imperial Royal Guard, whose homeland fell to the BETA, Yuuya has to set aside his resentment of Japan to develop the next combat machine.
