Synopsis
Manji is a swordsman cursed with immortality by sacred bloodworms, doomed to live on until he slays a thousand evil men. In Edo-period Japan he crosses paths with Rin Asano, a teenage girl whose family was massacred and whose father's dojo was destroyed by the Itto-ryu sword school led by Kagehisa Anotsu. Rin hires Manji as her bodyguard, and the two set out after Anotsu so she can take her revenge. This ONA is a second adaptation of the manga, distinct from the 2008 series.
