Manji is a swordsman cursed with immortality by the nun Yaobikuni, his wounds knitting shut thanks to sacred bloodworms in his body. Weary of an endless life, he agrees to guard Rin Asano, a teenage girl whose father's sword school was wiped out by the Itto-ryu and whose mother was carried off. To earn back his death, Manji vows to help her hunt the killers, beginning with the school's master Kagehisa Anotsu.
