Synopsis
Momonga is one of the last loyal players of YGGDRASIL, a long-running online game whose servers are finally shutting down. Rather than log off, he stays inside his guild's stronghold, the Great Tomb of Nazarick, to watch the end as his skeletal Overlord avatar. When the shutdown hour passes, the game does not close: Momonga remains in his undead body, the tomb's non-player characters awaken with minds of their own, and Nazarick sits in an unfamiliar world. Taking the name Ainz Ooal Gown, he sets out to learn where he is and what he has become.
