Fushigi Yûgi: The Mysterious Play

Junior-high student Miaka Yûki opens a strange library book called The Universe of the Four Gods and is pulled inside it, into a land modeled on ancient China. There she is named the Priestess of Suzaku, charged with gathering seven Celestial Warriors to summon the god and earn three wishes, and she grows close to the warrior Tamahome. Her best friend Yui Hongo is drawn into the same book on the rival side, as Priestess of Seiryû, setting the two former friends against each other across a brewing war.
