Ever since an event ten years ago, Yumeji Fujiwara has been able to read the dream auras around people and guess what they will dream next. When a girl named Merry Nightmare tumbles out of the sky onto him, he learns she is a muma, a dream demon stranded in the waking world and searching for a way home. Together they face Nightmares crossing over from the dream world to possess humans, including the cat-masked Engi who has haunted Yumeji's own dreams.
