Fifteen-year-old Hachibei Maeda obsesses over individual body parts rather than whole people, prizing a perfect set of features he hopes to one day assemble. When he moves to Tokyo for high school and ends up boarding in a shed beside Yume Hospital's lodging house, he finds himself surrounded by girls who each embody one of his ideal traits, starting with the petite Sakuraba and the long-legged Kirino. Living among them, Hachibei slowly learns to see the people behind the parts he fixates on.
