Keita Ibuki, a video-game programmer in Tokyo, learns that everyone is born one of three identical Doppeliners who secretly share a single fate, and that godlike Mototsumitama keep the world's balance. His ordinary life ends when he meets Kuro, a young Mototsumitama who forms a contract to save him after a fatal injury. Together with his childhood friend Akane Sano, Keita is drawn into a conflict over a powerful Mototsumitama clan that has begun disrupting the natural order.
