Tohru Honda, orphaned and living out of a tent, stumbles onto the Soma family's land and discovers their secret: thirteen members carry Chinese zodiac curses that turn them into animals when embraced by the opposite sex. She moves in with Yuki Soma, the family's prized Rat, and Kyo Soma, the outcast Cat, under their older cousin Shigure's roof. As Tohru grows closer to the Somas, the weight of the curse—and family head Akito's hold over them—becomes harder to ignore. This 2019 series readapts the manga in full, replacing the 2001 anime's partial adaptation.
