Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura, and Kagura still run the Yorozuya odd-jobs shop in an alien-occupied Edo, taking whatever work covers the rent. This fourth season opens on the usual absurd requests, then swings into longer, heavier arcs as the Shinsengumi and the shogunate pull the trio toward the political fights running under Kabukichou. Isao Kondo, Toshiro Hijikata, and Sougo Okita are back alongside the neighbourhood regulars, and the odd jobs stop staying small.
