Edo is in upheaval, and Gintoki Sakata is pulled back together with allies and former enemies alike as the immortal Utsuro moves to ignite a war that could end the planet. Old comrade turned antagonist Shinsuke Takasugi and his Kiheitai are drawn back into the fight, forcing the Yorozuya and their scattered friends to band together against a threat aimed at Earth itself. This season adapts the first half of the Silver Soul Arc, the final arc of Gintama.
