みいちゃんと山田さん

Yamada works the hostess clubs of Shinjuku while she is still at university, and the money is good enough that finishing the degree keeps sliding down her list. In 2012 she meets Mii-chan, a small, clumsy young woman who can barely read or write and who takes a steady stream of mockery from staff and customers. Mii-chan does not appear to register any of it, and her energy is hard to look away from. Yamada keeps finding reasons to stay near her.
