Koyomi Araragi spends this light novel walking out of his own series and into fifteen others. Each short piece drops him opposite a character from a different Nisio Isin book, one conversation at a time, with the aberration business he knows from Bakemonogatari mostly left at the door. Four of the stories were handed out at screenings of the Kizumonogatari films before the collection gathered them with eleven more, so the book reads as a set of crossovers rather than a continuation of Araragi's story.
