Ootsuki, foreman of Squad E in Teiai's underground labor camp for debtors, has banked enough perica to buy a one-day pass to the surface. Black suits escort him the whole time to make sure he does not run, and end up watching him budget every hour of it around a bowl of ramen, a cold beer or a hotel breakfast. Each outing in this manga is its own small logistics problem, planned with the seriousness of an escape.
