Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji get redrawn as chibi versions of themselves across thirty short episodes that pick the warm and funny moments out of Mo Dao Zu Shi. The shorts move between three stretches of Wei Wuxian's life: his years studying with the Gusu Lan clan, his adulthood, and his return after death. Jiang Cheng and the rest of the cultivation clans turn up in the same comic register, with the tragedy of the parent series left out.
