Deunan Knute and Briareos work as mercenaries in a wrecked New York City, where Briareos's combat hardware buys the pair shelter from a mayor who is himself a cyborg and convinced an alien invasion is coming. What they actually want is Olympus, the technological haven they have only heard described. A girl and the cyborg protecting her turn up on the run from better-armed cyborg mercenaries, and the two ex-SWAT partners take the job of getting them out. This manga follows the Appleseed Alpha story, set before the original Appleseed.
