Akihiko Chuuzenji keeps a second-hand bookshop in 1952 Tokyo and takes exorcism work he does not believe in, which is why his friend Tatsumi Sekiguchi brings him the Kuonji case. At the family's clinic, Kyoko Kuonji has carried a child for twenty months, and her husband Makio walked into a locked room and never came out of it. Sekiguchi cannot let the story alone, and the Kuonji family's own account of it keeps folding back on itself. This manga adapts the first novel in the Kyougokudou series.
