Natsutaro, left to mind the Otaru hideout, learns that one of the tattooed skins has been brought to an oil merchant who runs a gambling den, and plots to steal it so Hijikata will finally recognize him. His scheme crosses paths with the Lightning Bandit Keiichiro Sakamoto, a robber whose barefoot speed earned him his name, and his wife, Ogin the Viper. In the second, shorter segment, Sugimoto lingers over an injured shimaenaga, a long-tailed tit, loses Asirpa's group in thick fog and has to survive in the wilds alone. This OVA animates two episodes from the Golden Kamuy manga and was bundled with a spin-off novel.
