As Federation forces secretly test the new RX-78NT-1 'Alex' Gundam nearby, Al is drawn into an operation whose stakes reach far beyond a child's fascination with mobile suits. This OVA stands apart from the main Gundam timeline as a self-contained story.

Thirteen-year-old witch Kiki leaves home with her black cat Jiji to complete a year of independent training, as tradition requires. She settles in the seaside city of Koriko, where the bakery owner Osono offers her lodging in exchange for help, and opens a flying delivery service — the only skill she has perfected so far. Between courier jobs, friendships with the young painter Ursula, and bouts of self-doubt that threaten her ability to fly, Kiki navigates her first year on her own.
