Sengoku Youko

戦国妖狐 世直し姉弟編

In a war-torn Japan where katawara — supernatural beings born from concentrated human emotion — clash constantly with humans, fox-spirit Tama Youko and her adoptive human brother Jinka Yamato travel the countryside challenging both katawara hunters and exploitative warlords. Aspiring swordsman Shinsuke Hyoudou, who witnesses their first battle, joins the pair, as does Shakuyaku, a girl they free from a monastery's experiments. This first arc covers Tama and Jinka's early travels, driven by Tama's conviction that the two races can find peace.
