Fran, a twelve-year-old Black Cat beastgirl enslaved since her parents' death, pulls a sentient sword from the ground during a monster attack and names him Teacher. The two register as adventurers, with Fran wielding Teacher in combat while chasing her lifelong goal: evolving her species, a feat no Black Cat has ever achieved.
