A new school year opens and nothing has changed for Tenma Tsukamoto, who still pines hopelessly for the aloof Oji Karasuma while delinquent-turned-aspiring-mangaka Kenji Harima keeps failing to confess his feelings for her. This second term widens the lens to the surrounding cast, from Harima's circle to Tenma's sister Yakumo, as overlapping crushes and misread signals pile up across classroom schemes, club outings, and a basketball stretch. The confessions never quite land, and the misunderstandings only multiply.
