Jomy Marcus Shin expects to pass the adulthood exam every fourteen-year-old faces in a far future where humanity has handed its survival to supercomputers that breed children artificially and erase those who fail. Instead the test awakens the Mu factor in him, marking him as one of the psychic mutants the system hunts. Taken in by the dying Mu leader Soldier Blue, Jomy is named his successor and must lead the exiled Mu toward Terra, the ruined Earth they have never seen but still call home.
