Synopsis
Kiyo Takamine is a brilliant but withdrawn junior-high student whose father sends him a strange amnesiac boy named Zatch Bell. Zatch turns out to be a mamodo, one of 100 demon children dropped into the human world every thousand years to fight for the title of Mamodo King. Each mamodo is paired with a human who can read their spellbook, channeling their own emotions to cast attacks, and a mamodo is knocked out of the contest the moment their book burns. Bonded to Zatch, Kiyo is pulled into a battle that runs alongside ordinary school life.
