Synopsis
A portal erupts in the Ginza district of Tokyo and an army of medieval soldiers and monsters pours through to attack the city. The Japan Self-Defense Force drives them back and marches through the Gate to set up a base in the Special Region beyond. Leading the Third Reconnaissance Team is Lieutenant Youji Itami, an otaku for whom scouting a fantasy world is a dream posting, even as he ends up shielding its people from a dragon and bandits.
